1) The web console uses a Java applet. Most likely the problem with the browser closing is that the Java plugin is not installed correctly or is having an error. You should first ensure that the JMX Console or home page are working.  By the way, what browser are you using?

2) Please do not post lengthy log entries. I do not know which portion of the log file is concerned with the question you asked.

3) By default, JBossEAP uses the DailyRollingFileAppender to create log files. This appender automatically creates a new log file at midnight. You can configure other appenders at sever/xxx/conf/jboss-log4j.xml
