HI,

 To keep your portal session alive, you will have to send Ajax request to a servlet that is configured in JBOSS_PORTAL_HOME/server/default/deploy/jboss-portal.sar/portal-server.war/WEB-INF/web.xml.

I have done this in my project and it works fine.
