The javadoc of java.io.File http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/io/File.html#createTempFile(java.lang.String,%20java.lang.String,%20java.io.File) says this:

There's a bug filed already to track this https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBAS-5089

P.S: Surprisingly, my WAR named ab.war deploys fine on JBossAS-5.0 GA on RHEL operating system :)
