work around.

try changing persistence.xml as follows:

file is located here
//src/model/META-INF/persistence.xml

change from:
 
to:
 

This will skip the validity check during start up. I think this should be considered a bug by JBoss. I have Developer 1.0 GA and the 2.0 Beta and they both suffer from the same problem.
