[jboss-user] [Performance Tuning] - Re: Full GC not releasing Memory

I tried to run jmap utility to get the heap dump using following command

jmap -heap:format=b <PID>
However after running following command it says 
Attaching to process ID <PID>, please wait...

and just hung, no output after that.

I am running it on RHEL 4 using JDK 1.5.0_12-b04

is there anything am i missing?
