I am having the exact same problem.

is there any way to configure the connection factory outside the ear? Ideally, the MDB would receive the connectionFactory from jndi

also looking to get the ResourceAdapter out of the ear, otherwise the MDB is hard coded to a specific JMS vendor and not portable.
