My results:

| jBPM 4.3 with cache | 6779 | 68 |

Marcel:
I don't have the environment to build jBPM so I couldn't test the DbSessionImpl. It would be great if you could upload your jbpm jar file to try it out.

Nevertheless, I don't think that version 4.x is as performant as 3.x at the moment. But I'm open for suggestions and maybe someone can demonstrate the higher performance of version 4.
