as mentioned, the patch will not work out of the box for 4.3 you'll have to manually incorporate the changes and still it might not work since it might be relying on other changes as well.
 
4.4? the intention is to have quarterly releases. so I'd have expected some things in the not so distant future. Keep an eye on the jira list
