The docs for designer are somewhat outdated, we have been working on that recently. You no longer have to use eclipse editor to make a bpmn2 process executable. We just released the newest designer version 1.0.0.054 ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/jbpm/files/designer/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/jbpm/files/designer/) which includes a number of bug fixes and adds support for onEntry/onExit actions to task nodes, as well as process imports and globals.
