I think I should provide more details....:D My initial requirement to get a connection pooling going, and allow me to reconfigure a few things as we go. (max,min connections, and time-out values, etc). It's not a built-in resource like DataSource. 
So if I understand correctly, if I could get AS 7, I will be able to "see"  these resources on jmx console (or rhq console)?
