I have created an issue  https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-8286 https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-8286, we will prevent org.jboss.tools.vpe plugin for loading. This plugin responsible for visual and preview tabs. So if it not be loaded, only source tab will be available.
