Hello Jim,
It seems that the jpa persistence provider cannot be found. Have you created a persistence.xml in your classpath as described in,   http://docs.jboss.org/jbpm/v5.0/userguide/ch08.html http://docs.jboss.org/jbpm/v5.0/userguide/ch08.html  ?
