This looks like an EclipseLink issue. What does your persistence.xml look like? I found this similar thread  http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/eclipselink-users/msg01583.html http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/eclipselink-users/msg01583.html and the user there added some property in the persistence.xml to get it working  http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/eclipselink-users/msg01584.html http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/eclipselink-users/msg01584.html. You probably have to set the correct target server, in this case JBoss.
