JBoss Tools works fine with EL 2.2. It's a bug of Eclipse WTP Validator. See  *https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=352491 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=352491*
It seems that this bug is going to be fixed in next version of WTP 3.3.1*
