Sounds great! I would start off with cloning the project on github ( https://github.com/tsurdilo/process-designer https://github.com/tsurdilo/process-designer) and trying to build it locally (it uses maven so not much explanation needed I hope). Then hit me up on IRC ( http://www.jboss.org/jbpm/irc http://www.jboss.org/jbpm/irc, my nick is tsurdilo) and I'd be glad to get you started on the right track.
