Message-ID: Hi CAT's, We are considering requiring running Java 8 for JBoss Tools 4.3 and Developer Studio 9.0. We will still support running applications and servers with any previous Java version, but for running the actual plugins we are considering moving to Java 8. Is this requirement something that would prevent you from being able to update/upgrade to this upcoming release ? Current stats *today* on latest JBoss Tools usage. About 50/50. This is way more than we had when looking at moving to Java 7 from Java 6 and rejected it. Java 8 seem to be heading towards being most used Java version very soon. > Moving to JDK 8 in the context of enterprise customers feels a little > leading edge. Even for desktop java versions ? Remember this is not changing their ability to run Java 7 or older based apps. /max > > Jim > > Sent from my iPad > >> On May 22, 2015, at 12:54 PM, Max Rydahl Andersen >> wrote: >> >> Hi CAT's, >> >> We are considering requiring running Java 8 for JBoss Tools 4.3 and >> Developer Studio 9.0. >> >> We will still support running applications and servers with any >> previous >> Java version, but >> for running the actual plugins we are considering moving to Java 8. >> >> Is this requirement something that would prevent you from being >> able to update/upgrade to this upcoming release ? >> >> Thanks for any feedback, >> /max >> http://about.me/maxandersen >> _______________________________________________ >> jbosstools-cat mailing list >> jbosstools-cat at lists.jboss.org >> https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jbosstools-cat /max http://about.me/maxandersen
