btw. for those who don't know, here is the process we have that is
supposed to avoid this stuff:
https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-devdoc/blob/master/building/target_platforms/target_platforms_updates.adoc
Highlights:
Goals:
Avoid unnecessary churn (failed builds)
Avoid adding unnecessary or incomplete dependencies
Document why and when changes occur
And especially:
*Test* before making it live:
https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-devdoc/blob/master/building/target_platforms/target_platforms_updates.adoc#test-local-target-platform-use
"Generally, developers should have 7 days to review a proposed change.
However, for more urgent changes (such as to fix a broken contribution
from a previous PR or to remove something on which no projects still
depend), 1 or 2 days may be sufficient."
https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-devdoc/blob/master/building/target_platforms/target_platforms_updates.adoc#await-feedback
In this case the *only* change that was relevant to do this close to
Beta2 was the Tern update and even that could have waited and be handled
in a respin where there would be *WAY* less stress about it.
Here is to us not seeing breakage caused by TP updates on next code
freeze :)
