In vanilla Eclipse build.xml files (and I think build*.xml) open with the Ant Editor.  JBoss Tools causes them to become associated with Red Hat XML Editor.  The Ant Editor knows lots about ant build.xml files (as there is no schema/dtd this makes a big difference).
