not that this will excite anyone, but while trying to get a better understanding of this, I fixed (or provided a patch to fix) the same issue on WTP 3.0 M6 ;)    I realize that's not the priority right now, but I gained a much more complete understanding of the jst code by looking at the easier 3.0 stream.
