Vitali Yemialyanchyk commented on JBIDE-1178:
---------------------------------------------

we get some questions for this issue...

"1) Ask user when codegen is launched what tables he wants code generation for"
it is not clear in which moment we should ask this and where to store...
now we use reveng.xml - but this file ordinary created outside codegeneration - so the question is
how to integrate creation of reveng.xml & codegeneration?
first obvious solution is other modal dialog to browse tables from (or like) reveng.xml creation wisard has,
but may be this solution not the best...
Max, could you suggest something?
"2) Using the DTP table browser allow selection from there and generate based on that "
it is not clear what mean "DTP table browser" cause I do not find such thing...
as I guess this is tables browser from reveng.xml creation wisard?

what do you mean ".. challenge .. how to "merge" into existing generated entities" - as I see the problem here is do not replace existing files with new one - so we should ask user to replace file(files) or not; do you mean the same? or you see some other possible complexities?

> We should be able to select exactly which tables we want to generate entities for. Hibernate Tools already has this functionality, should just be a matter of proper integration.
