In the meantime, I have found yet another way to add  nsIWebProgressListener :

nsIServiceManager serviceManager = mozilla.getServiceManager();
nsIWebProgress webProgress = (nsIWebProgress) serviceManager
				.getServiceByContractID("@mozilla.org/docloaderservice;1",
						nsIWebProgress.NS_IWEBPROGRESS_IID);
webProgress.addProgressListener(this, nsIWebProgress.NOTIFY_ALL); // nsIWebProgress.NOTIFY_STATE_ALL

This is, probably, the best way to fix this issue.
