I have checked xulrunner 1.9 on Mac OS and Linux and how founded following results:
1) On linux(x86) all works fine, i run junit and test some vpe features manually and haven's founded a problems). Even incorrect highlight of some elements works fine. 
2) On Mac OS looks like we have problems with highlight of selected elements(nsIFlasher), this feature doesn't works at all for Mac and xulrunner 1.9.
