In my case ijbdevstudio 1.1 crashes ALWAYS when opening a XHTML file with "JBoss Tools HTML Editor" or even when creating an empty XHTML file.

No additional plugins installed, Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop SLED 10 SP2 

Here is the message in the crash dialog after opening a file:
