Francisco Jose Peredo Noguez commented on JBIDE-3101:
-----------------------------------------------------

Well, it certainly was not insignificant for me, but I am also being hit by JBIDE-3100, so that could be the reason for the excruciatingly
slow performance. I agree with you when about: "he whole point of project archives is that the archives are built *incrementally* thus the build process is insignificant. " but, what about the first time with a really big project? I think it should be possible to easily deactivate this. Perhaps it should ask the user if the Project Archives should run, specially if it detects that the archive file does not exist, because it can take a lot of time.

> Project Archives option should not run automatically, currently it seems to run whenever the project is rebuilt, and since by default eclipse is configured to "build automatically" each time one saves, the extra burden of having to generate .war/ear/.jar/ files makes eclipse unusable.
