This is actually a JBoss AS bug for creating MBeans that violate spec.  The JMX 1.2 specification says as follows:

All the following methods must return valid, meaningful data (non-empty
strings) suitable for display to users:
   OpenMBeanInfo.getDescription
   OpenMBeanOperationInfo.getDescription
   OpenMBeanConstructorInfo.getDescription
   OpenMBeanParameterInfo.getDescription
   OpenMBeanAttributeInfo.getDescription

The javax.management classes do *not* check for nulls in these classes or in their .equals methods. 

A verbose and stupid bunch of code has now been added to MBeanOperationInfoWrapper to overcome this JBoss AS deficiency.
