Anton,  this example is a file gateway ESB sample. so before deploy the project,  we have to set three parameters by modifying the jboss-esb.xml file in the folder: /esbcontent/META-INF/,   replace three String :@INPUTDIR@ , @OUTPUTDIR@ and @ERRORDIR@  in the file with three exist directories. there is also a readme.txt in root of the project after you create it using project examples wizard, hope it make sense to you.
