Failing to connect root node to root nodes means that the other mappings defined will not deserialize correctly when the editor is closed and reopened. (See attached images.)

Is the root node connection actually required at run time for the configuration file to work correctly? If not, then the editor should not enforce this constraint. If so, then this is an invariant in the configuration file: the connection from root node to root node should be automatically added by the editor and the "delete" action should be disabled.
