Here is another list of bugs that I have found testing visual part of <rich:calendar> in VPE:
1) See screenshot-1. Container of header and footer in VPE don't match to the same container in browsers.
2) Attribute "datePattern" exert influence upon a header part of  the component instead of footer part and input.
In addition <rich:calendar> itself has a various bugs. It may help with the resolving of this issue https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-4562
