Could we please NOT have an editor show up a dialog for every file it does not understand :)
An editor should just show in its main editor area a message about why it cannot load the file (i.e. the file is missing, or some other info is missing) and then provide a tab with the source. Showing a dialog for every file that errors can give rather many dialogboxes in real life ;)
