Yes, im aware you would only restore the two extension points.
My issue with adding it to common is that it has alot of dependencies that i would not consider 
relevant for most plugins. Hence I would prefer a simpler core module if really needed. 

But on the other hand just having that few things in core also feels wrong ;)
