I'm fine with focusing on Hibernate right now. 

Something to consider is what repository users should use - i.e. why does the template refer to snapshots ? We shouldn't expose snapshots to users if not needed.
And what if we one day have a supported binary repository, i.e. repository.jboss.com - would we have to duplicate these extensions points ?
