There were 2 issues here that I can see...

1.  The config was being created with 1.1 configs.  Not sure if these work with the mapping code.  Anyway.... v1.1 and v1.0 are supposed to be disappearing.
2.  I suspect Brian was not performing the collection mapping and was not getting a warning telling him that this needed to be performed before value mappings could be made inside the collection.
