The behavior is that each server will be given a runtime classpath entry called 

org.jboss.ide.eclipse.as.server.internal.launch.runJarContainer/${server name}

(I've tried to change the display name but RuntimeClasspathEntryLabelProvider does not allow this to be changed)

This will be automatically updated if the server name is changed. If the runtime location is changed this container will de-reference it properly. 

If for some reason you have a launch config without this container, "restore defaults" should add it properly, however "restore defaults" will also remove any extra entries you added yourself.
