in case of SOA we should definitely create a default ESB runtime.

with respect to the quickfixes would it make sense to just in the case of there only being *one* runtime available just switch to it ?

Another thing to make sure in the project examples is that it uses the Java 5 execution environment instead of specific named JDK - that would make that match more easily.
