That was the strange thing. Ran with

-console -debug -consolelog

and got no relevant messages (did get messages about JVM 1.6 plug-ins not loading from Eclipse Java dev tools).

Also tried creating a launch config using all the JBT 3 plug-ins and validating it, and no error message.
