Verified. Takes a while, but on restart the Welcome page returns like the first time you run JBDS, and Help > About shows 2.0.1.GA instead of 2.0.0.GA. 

Now we just need to work out the details re: authentication and verify that http://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/2.1/ is the URL to use, and we can stick that into the JBDS feature.xml so customers can get automatic updates (if they punch in the correct username/password pair).
