I was able to avoid this exception

It was trying to store selected class for "Search" tab in TabbedJavaChooserFieldEditor (see screenshot)

This feature never works

For this functionality we have "Recent" tab

I have fixed it in trunk

Should I fix it in 3.0.x branch?
