I just type the sequence of keys: tilde a (to represent ã) and it's doesn't work if I do that directly in the Visual Editor. 
If I type the same sequence of keys directly in the Source Editor, all works fine!

I've been using M4.

The file encoding is UTF-8 (project generated by seam-gen)
