Svetlana, I've created a high level user guide in a wiki document here: http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/GuidetotheRevisedSmooksConfigurationEditor

Hopefully that will help you get started with the latest round of fixes. There shouldn't be any major changes from the basic process outlined here. We also have a new test facility for Smooks that you might ask Tom Fennelly to write up something on. Tom's just about done with that.
