I've tested seam web project with jpa facet.
I have'n noticed any problems with war-deployable project . The only thing we need to add Utility Model facet to it (I don't know the limitation without it, but it is required when you create simple jpa project). Now it is impossible.
For ear project the the jpa facet installed not on the right project. But I haven't seen any problems with  jpa-ejb when it installed mannually after seam web project creation.

Checked: persistence.xml editor, jpa details and structure views, validation of database objects.
