I have just some small ideas from user point of view. Each node from jboss-esb.xml file like Provider, Services, Listeners, Queues etc. should have some graphical interpretation icon used to represent related object in diagram. These nodes should be connected with lines/arrows to show processing of incoming message. It doesn't have to be completely synchronized with jboss-esb.xml probably it's not even possible.

Main purpose of ESB Configuration Diagram should to give user some overview about this configuration and maybe it should be used just for graphical interpretation and not for editing configuration itself but with added value that it will at least generate Icons for particular nodes and user will arrange them and connect together dependent on processing flow
