Max, Bob is looking into this now and checking out the use of content types (http://www.developer.com/java/web/article.php/3648736/Eclipse-Tip-Define-Custom-Content-Types-to-Identify-Your-Data-Files.htm). If we can get it resolved for the 3.1.1 release, we'd like to get it in, but it should definitely go into 3.2.next.
