Hi Brian,

These codes for server location from AS tests, I think they have not big problem. 

protected static final String JBOSSWS_HOME_DEFAULT = "D:/softinstall/jboss-4.2.3GA/jboss-4.2.3.GA";
public static final String JBOSS_AS_42_HOME = System.getProperty(JBOSSWS_42_HOME, JBOSSWS_HOME_DEFAULT);

These codes will find the server location from JBOSSWS_HOME_DEFAULT, if not, then JBOSSWS_42_HOME that is a property in every build system.

Go back to your problem. When you import the project, the test hang. I think maybe in your eclipse, you have epp update plugins, they will run all time. The import method will add listener to the workspace threads. If there is a thread running, the import can't finish.
