marking this for M2 for at least clarification.

It seem to me this functionallity is rather critical to allow VPE to extendable.

What prevent us from having VPE choose what templates it uses based on namespaces first and then defaults next ? i.e. today we already support multiple versions of one namespace - shouldn't we also for rest ?
