Given Drools is now building 5.2.0.SNAPSHOT, it's time to get this fixed. Kris, I looked briefly at your existing build and it's already a maven build which calls out to PDE to build plugins. Once the plugins are built, we could stick in a step to package your http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/job/drools/lastStableBuild/artifact/trunk/target/drools-5.2.0.SNAPSHOT-eclipse-all.zip as an update site instead of a runnable. 

Do you have time this week to work on this w/ me?
