Opening the ProjectExamples wizard (help -> project examples) the UI is blocked for a period of 8 seconds during a call to NewProjectExamplesWizardPage.getCategories(). This block occurs immediately upon opening the wizard. Checking or unchecking the "Show experimental sites" box *also* blocks the UI for the same 10-second period. 

This is horribly unresponsive and freezes the entire UI thread.
