Rob, I've made what I see as the minimal change to make this behavior stop. I'm very surprised if this does not also happen on linux since setText is always called twice which should result in focus/cursor reset on all platforms.

could you look to see if I missed something obvious ?

(i.e. i'm surprised if the propertychange handling in this code is right but didnt want to fix/change too much at this point)
