Alexey Kazakov commented on JBIDE-5650:
---------------------------------------

One of the biggest disadvantages of old CA was usage of static metadata instead of TLD/Tag libs.
Static metadata was a set of big XMLs (~8 MB) and we used a complex mechanism of cache to make it work quickly enough. And it was a pain to keep these XMLs up to date.
I see only one way to restore this mechanism for CR2: we could restore our old common.kb plugin with old code and old metadata (wasn't updated since 06/2009). And if there is not any info in classpath then we could use old KB plug-in.

> As discussed in http://community.jboss.org/thread/146141?tstart=0 it seems that with the new code completion which is albeit more precise than before because it picks up tld's etc. from the classpath runs into trouble when we have existing projects (such as seam-gen generated ones) which don't have these resources on the classpath because they until now only need them at runtime.
> We need to find an answer to that somehow.
