Max Rydahl Andersen updated JBDS-1064:
--------------------------------------

      Component/s: SOA Platform
    Fix Version/s: LATER
         Assignee: Brian Fitzpatrick
         Priority: Critical (was: Major)

I've marked all this as for LATER but critical since majority of these are all stuff that can't make it into GA this time around.
If there is some specific parts of this that are critical please speak up and preferably create a separate issue for it.

1) okey - but I don't understand what "issues with perspectives" means ? project creation doesn't affect perspectives. Got some more info ?

2) Brian ? Maybe Grid got info here ?

3) ok - I don't know enough about the juddi stuff and what compatibilty issues there are (i.e. the wizard should also work with Soa-p 4.3, right ?)

4) Do we support them all equally well/guaranteed ?

5) I don't see any soapui test web service client reference on that link. You mean it had something similar to what soapui provides ?

6) Not sure why you are pointing to the first meeting of JEE 5 meetings in WTP - the latest meeting were in january and about JEE 6, see http://wiki.eclipse.org/JEE_Status_Meetings. But yes, webservices in eclipse does not seem to get much attention but we don't have anything better available. SoapUI is not OSS so
would be a simple thing to do.

> The Web Service Create Wizard has a few issues:
> 1) Creates a JSR-109 and an EAR Project, these projects should not be necessary. If an EAR project is already in the workspace, there are some issues encountered with the creation of the JSR-109 project. Neither of these projects can be deleted, once they are created by the wizard. (although sometimes it does not create the JSR-109 project and on workspace restart, this causes an issue with the perspectives)
> 2) The Web Service Create wizard requires JSR-181 annotations. The Wizard should be able to assist in adding these to the class.(check boxes in wizard screen to select which methods to add @WebMethod )
> 3) UDDI integration - unable to set properties for UDDI integration, We should be able to publish with the SOA-P5 juddi 3.0 registry.(would be nice to add subscription/notify hook for Web Service clients, but this is more of a future thing).
> 4) A Web Services preferences screen should be available in the properties to set uddi browser, and other web services preferences like CXF, JBossWS, Sun Metro
> 5) The WTP 1.5 had a SoapUI test web service client, this could be very useful - http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jst/components/ws/1.5/tutorials/BottomUpWebService/BottomUpWebService.html
> 6) At the minimum, a simple Web Service wizard should be built that edits the web.xml for the servlet and servlet mapping entries. Many customers look at other tooling because we are lacking with this feature. The current WTP wizard should probably be disabled, since it appears the project is almost dead, since the last updates/working group meetings to it were in 2006 -> http://wiki.eclipse.org/Minutes_of_the_JEE_5_Working_Group_meeting_Nov_30%2C_2006
> Features from the WTP and SoapUI should be reviewed for inclusion in the wizard.
