I have tried JPA 2.0 using the nightly build update site, and it is not working yet. Hibernate Tools version : 3.3.0.v20100709-2146-H19-M1 and eclipse version : 3.6 20100617-1415.  
In the above GUI screenshot you can select the Hibernate JPA 2, but when the project is created eclipse complains that "The persistence.xml file does not have supported content for this JPA platform."
In the Hibernate Tools codebase there exists a test project for JPA 1, could you also provide a test project for JPA 2?
